The composition draws strong inspiration from sacred painting of the Italian Renaissance and the Seicento (with influences reminiscent of Raphael or Scipione Pulzone), but in terms of the softness of the features and the materials of the period it seems to be an artwork datable to the 19th to early 20th century.
