Caran d'Ache, the Swiss manufacturer of high-precision writing instruments, has produced a unique fountain pen to commemorate Hong Kong's return to Chinese sovereignty on July 1, 1997. Only 1997 units were made for the whole world. The filling system is cartridge-based or with the converter that comes from the factory. Made in red lacquer. It features two rings with 25 zirconias each. The rings and clip are gold-plated. Nib in 18-carat gold with a medium point "M". The pen is presented in a large red lacquered box.
