The piece rests on a circular fluted base of substantial thickness, designed to provide stability and presence, from which emerges a sculptural stem in the shape of a fish, carefully worked in scales, head and tail. The upper socket, conical in profile and also fluted, integrates coherently into the whole, maintaining a continuous decorative language. Inside the base it incorporates a removable counterweight, a common technical solution in quality candlesticks, intended to improve balance during use. The maker’s mark and the official star contrast — the mark of sterling silver in Spain since 1934 — reinforce the authentic and collectible character of the candlestick, suitable both for its original function and for display as a decorative object on a table, sideboard, or in a display cabinet.
