Candleholder (2) - Copper, Bronze - the Amsterdam School

Two large church candelabras dating from circa 1940 to 1950, executed in Dutch Art Deco style with influences from the Amsterdam School. The candelabras have a heavy and architectural design, with broad clock-shaped bases, bowl-shaped candle holders and decorative brass details. The dark patinated metal forms a beautiful contrast with the gold-colored accents. The design recalls the metalwork of Jan Eisenloeffel. This is a stylistic indication and not an official attribution. Each candelabrum holds a large decorative candle. These candles are hollowed at the top, so a smaller candle can be inserted and replaced. Without a candle, each candelabrum is 45 cm tall. With the large candle, the total height is about 107 cm. There is also a plateau on which you can place an extra candle for use in the candelabrum. Both candelabras have a lovely antique patina and normal signs of use, appropriate to their age and ecclesiastical provenance. The candelabras are offered as a set of two. Please also see the photos as part of the description.
