Camille MELLINET (1795 – Nantes 1843) Printer, Journalist, and Historian. Letter from A.S. in NANTES (44) dated August 31, 1841, addressed to Mr. F. GERMAIN in Morlaix, regarding the writer Émile SOUVESTRE (MORLAIX 1806–1854). “My dear friend. I delivered your package to your poor SOUVESTRE: I had seen him on Saturday. We spoke at length; he was overcome by deep sorrow. He had recalled all the hardships of his youth—a life so nobly and dignifiedly lived without a single blemish—and though his heart was filled with grief, at least I found him to be courageous. So I thought I could send him your heartfelt gift, which I did with a little note attached to your letter. Thank you a thousand times for thinking of me to act as your intermediary…”
