Cabinet - Wood - antique cabinet

Elegant Antique Carved Wooden Cabinet – Neo-Renaissance Style Beautiful antique solid wooden cabinet, with a strong decorative presence and exceptionally rich carved decoration. The cabinet features a rectangular top with an elaborately carved perimeter edge, a large upper drawer, an open central compartment and a lower section closed by a door. The entire structure is decorated with turned columns, carved floral panels, moulded frames and numerous ornamental details. Particularly striking are the foliate and floral carvings, scrolling decorations and the ornamental masks on the front, characteristic of the Neo-Renaissance taste. The lower section rests on substantial carved feet decorated with zoomorphic and foliate elements, giving the piece a monumental appearance. Style and period Style: Neo-Renaissance / Eclectic Period: 19th century, stylistic attribution Material: solid wood Colour: dark brown with a warm aged patina Craftsmanship: hand-carved relief decoration The dating and stylistic attribution are based on the visible construction and decorative characteristics. No documentation or maker’s mark is visible in the photographs allowing attribution to a specific manufacturer or artist. Dimensions * Height: 90 cm * Width: 60 cm * Depth: 47 cm Condition The cabinet is in antique/vintage condition with evident signs of age, consistent with its age and handcrafted nature. There are various imperfections, abrasions, small losses and areas of wear to the wood, particularly around the edges, carved borders and decorative feet. Some carved details show wear and small losses of wooden material. The photographs also show holes compatible with old woodworm activity in some areas of the wood. A preventive or curative woodworm treatment is therefore recommended before final use. The original patina, colour variations, marks and small imperfections contribute to the authentic character of this antique piece. The cabinet nevertheless retains its strong decorative and collectible appeal, particularly suitable for lovers and collectors of antique furniture. Suggested use Ideal as a statement bedside cabinet, storage cabinet, entrance furniture, living-room or study piece, or as a decorative element in classical, historic, vintage or eclectic interiors. A highly characterful piece, capable of adding a strong antique presence to an interior thanks to its elaborate carving and aged wooden patina.
