Burmese amber - Amber - Collection of Five Burmese Amber Specimens with Beetles

An interesting collection of five polished Burmese amber specimens containing a diverse assortment of fossil insects and organic remains. The collection includes several beetle-like insects, small winged specimens and other arthropod inclusions. One piece is distinguished by a large, well-defined insect wing, while another contains a cluster of several insects preserved together. Anatomical features such as wings, legs, antennae and segmented bodies can be observed under magnification. The specimens display attractive shades ranging from pale lemon yellow to warm golden amber. Each piece has been individually shaped and polished to enhance transparency and reveal the inclusions from different angles. Burmese amber, also known as Burmite, originates from northern Myanmar and dates to the mid-Cretaceous period, approximately 99 million years ago. These specimens preserve fascinating fragments of an ancient forest ecosystem. Natural botanical remains, suspended particles, flow lines, air bubbles, internal fissures and minor surface irregularities may be present and are characteristic of fossil amber. The measuring tape shown in the photographs provides an indication of scale. The sale includes all five specimens pictured.
