Bronze sculpture of a girl with a lamb. French School. 19th century.

Descriptio Patinated bronze on a two-tone marble base. Dimensions: 33 x 20 x 20 cm. The sculpture depicts a girl in a contemplative attitude, sitting next to a lamb she is gently holding. The naturalistic treatment of the face, the texture of her hair, and the soft folds of her dress reveal a refined workmanship typical of 19th-century French workshops. The dark patina and contrast with the marble provide visual depth and compositional balance. The work embodies the romantic ideal of innocence and tenderness characteristic of bourgeois taste of the period. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed.
