A Lightly Circulated $2 National Bank Note from an Iconic Boston-Based Bank Boston, Massachusetts. $2 1875. Fr. 391. The Continental NB. Charter #524. PMG Extremely Fine 40. Issued by an institution better-known for its $3 Obsoletes anchored by the so-called "Polar Bear Attack" vignette, this $2 National Bank Note does nonetheless represent a run of fortunate survivors on the Continental National Bank (Charter# 524) which was a conversion of the earlier Continental Bank that became a National Bank in 1864.
