Bolex Paillard C8 8mm – "Swiss Heritage Edition" (Zermatt...

A tribute to 1950s Switzerland: an icon of elite tourism and precision engineering. In the postwar era, Switzerland was one of the most coveted and exclusive tourist destinations in Europe, a place of unspoiled charm, great elegance, and extraordinary scenic beauty. This exquisite Paillard-Bolex C8 8mm camera (produced in the 1950s) is presented in a unique edition and reinterpreted, designed as a true work of art and design. The Creative Concept: Vintage desaturated design: The piece originated from a careful study among several graphic alternatives. To preserve the historic suggestion of the object, desaturated tones and sepia/black-and-white typical of postcards and period photographs were used. Iconic subjects: on one side the famous Alpine town of Zermatt dominated by the majestic Matterhorn is depicted; on the other side and along the profiles you’ll find panoramic views of a typical Swiss lakeside town from the 1950s (such as Lugano or Zurich), recalling the lakefront strolls of the era. Technical specifications and material restoration: Innovative technical coating: The original leatherette has been entirely replaced with a new high-strength technical material. This coating is designed to resist wear, touch, and contact with oily solutions, allowing not only display as a collectible but also practical field use. Aluminum and chrome body: the metallic details, the shutter rings, the loading key, and the exposure time table remain in decent aesthetic condition, preserving the typical Paillard shine. Bolex Paillard mechanicals: a high-precision Swiss mainspring mechanism, famous for its exceptional reliability. Technical Specifications: Brand/Model: Paillard-Bolex C8 Origin: Switzerland (Sainte-Croix) Original production year: 1950s Film Format: 8mm (Double 8 / Standard 8) Operation: Manual wind mechanical (no batteries) Aesthetic condition: discreet, customized with artistic graphic technical material Operational condition: The winding mechanism responds, but speeds are not fully smooth and improve with lubrication. Seller Notes: This unique piece unites the great history of Swiss analog cinematography with a refined, nostalgic custom design work. Perfect for collectors, vintage home decor enthusiasts, film studio display windows, or anyone seeking a one-of-a-kind object to shoot 8mm film.
