Bolex Paillard-Bolex B8 – Double 8 filmcamera – Yvar 13mm...

Beautiful classic Paillard-Bolex B8 8mm film camera, manufactured in Switzerland in the 1950s. A high-quality, fully mechanical cine camera from the well-known Bolex series, built in metal with black casing. The camera uses Standard 8 / Double 8 film and is equipped with a rotating two-lens turret, allowing quick switching between the two lenses. This example comes with two Kern-Paillard Yvar lenses: a Yvar AR 13 mm f/1.9 as a standard/wide-angle lens and a Yvar AR 36 mm f/2.8 as a telephoto lens. This combination is also found on documented B8 examples from 1956–1957. The B8 is a fully mechanical film camera with a wind-up spring motor and therefore requires no batteries. The camera offers multiple shooting speeds of 8, 12, 16, 24, 32, 48 and 64 frames per second, plus the option for single-frame shooting. The camera has been mechanically tested: the spring motor can be wound and the camera runs. The controls and lens turret functioned during the test. The camera has not been tested with developed film; therefore the final image quality and accuracy of the frame rates have not been verified with film. Cosmetically, the unit is in nice, used vintage condition with normal signs of aging and use. The metal edges show localized light wear and oxidation/discoloration, appropriate for its age. See the photos for the exact condition. Includes: Kern-Paillard Yvar AR 13 mm f/1.9, Kern-Paillard Yvar AR 36 mm f/2.8 and the illustrated braided wrist strap with connector. Before shipping, the camera will be carefully cleaned, including the accessible glass and lens elements. An attractive Swiss precision camera for collectors of Bolex, classic cine cameras, and analog 8mm film technology.
