The gemstone has an oval cabochon shape and has been partially polished, preserving the characteristics responsible for its optical star phenomenon. The sapphire has been examined and certified by GRS GemResearch Swisslab, Switzerland. According to the GRS report, its geographic origin is Sri Lanka (Ceylon). Importantly, the report states “No indication of thermal treatment”, making this an unheated natural Sri Lankan star sapphire.
