Black Opal – a very dark body with spectacular neon green and fiery red

This exceptional Black Opal captivates with its deep dark blue to almost black base body, serving as an intense stage for an unusually strong and highly contrasting play-of-color. Especially characteristic is the luminous neon green that sweeps across the surface in broad, curved color zones and changes its shape and intensity depending on the viewing angle. In several areas, this intense green is accompanied by deep blue and turquoise tones, while spectacular flashes of red, orange, and yellow become visible. The strongest contrast occurs where the nearly black body material directly meets the extremely light green—colors appear almost internally illuminated as a result. The stone is particularly impressive in the second and third views, where the red fire stands out clearly and merges with the dominant green into an exceptionally lively color display. The fourth shot again dramatically demonstrates how much the appearance of the opal changes with incident light: a broad, intensely green field of color curves across the dark body, with blue and red reflections appearing at the edges. The highly polished finish enhances the optical depth and makes the individual color zones stand out even more clearly. Because of its dark body color, this opal has an exceptionally strong color rendition, as even the slightest change in viewing angle can reveal new areas of the fascinating color play. The combination of deep blue, intense neon green, electric blue, and strong red and orange makes this specimen a particularly expressive representative of Black Opals. An extraordinary natural stone for discerning collectors and lovers of rare opals, which immediately catches the eye due to its intense color effect, strong contrast, and impressive optical depth.
