Bedouin choker necklace - Silver, Copper - Yemen - first half 20th century

For sale is an impressive antique Yemeni jewelry set (traditional Bedouin choker necklace and a rectangular protective amulet pendant with red stones), crafted in traditional Jewish-Yemeni silversmithing. The ensemble very likely consists of a region-typical historical silver-copper alloy (Bedouin/tribal silver) with an authentic, dark antique patina. The wide choker necklace features elaborate filigree work, rows of beads, delicate decorations, and plenty of dangling elements and bell pendants. The accompanying rectangular amulet pendant is set with three red glass cabochons/stones and also features dangling chains with bell details. The total weight is approximately 293.5 grams (necklace about 211.9 g and pendant about 81.6 g). The length of the band/necklace is about 40 cm, while the pendant plus chain has an overall length of about 32 to 33 cm. The set is in very good antique/vintage condition with age-related patina and minor signs of wear, and it may have a few small bells/pendants missing, which is completely normal for objects of this age and emphasizes the historical value.
