A beautiful original first Japanese pressing of Magical Mystery Tour, issued by Odeon/Toshiba as a deluxe two-record 7-inch EP set. Unlike the later LP version familiar to many collectors, this edition follows the original 1967 concept of Magical Mystery Tour as a double EP, containing the six songs specifically recorded for the television film: Magical Mystery Tour, Your Mother Should Know, I Am The Walrus, The Fool On The Hill, Flying and Blue Jay Way. The Japanese first pressing is particularly attractive because Toshiba reproduced the elaborate presentation with a gatefold sleeve and extensive 24-page colour booklet, filled with film photographs, artwork and the original story. The Japanese edition also includes additional Japanese-language lyric and information material, enriching the collector experience with comprehensive documentation. ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): A very attractive example with some light corner wear and slight age-related staining visible inside the gatefold. The original gatefold structure remains intact and the overall presentation remains highly appealing, grading a strong VG+. Booklet / Insert: Original 24-page colour booklet present and well preserved, containing film photographs, artwork and original story material. Japanese lyric and information sheet also included, greatly enhancing the set's collector appeal. Vinyl (EX): Both original 7" EP records are in superb clean condition, retaining an excellent shine with only very minor signs of handling or play.
