Scarce Japanese Odeon red-vinyl pressing of one of The Beatles' most important singles, I Want To Hold Your Hand, backed with the superb Lennon-McCartney B-side This Boy. OR-1041 was kept in the Japanese catalogue for several years and appeared in a fascinating succession of sleeve, price and vinyl variations. This example is one of the desirable G ¥370 versions pressed on Toshiba's distinctive translucent wine-red vinyl, considerably harder to encounter than the numerous black-vinyl issues. The Japanese red pressings are often referred to by collectors as "Everclean" red vinyl, a particularly attractive characteristic of Toshiba's 1960s record production. ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): Very solid and presentable original sleeve. Some visible ring wear and light age-related handling are evident, but the overall condition remains a strong example. Vinyl (VG+): Attractive translucent red vinyl retaining a good shine.
