Mattel - Barbie "Mbili" Treasures of Africa Collection by Byron Lars - Limited Edition (2002) - NRFB Description: Splendid and eccentric Barbie "Mbili", second model of the famous and iconic "Treasures of Africa" series, created by the renowned New York designer Byron Lars for Mattel Collectibles (year 2002). This is an extraordinarily detailed Limited Edition that celebrates African-inspired culture and high fashion: Design and Outfit: The doll wears a corseted bodice adorned with multicolored beads, lace-knitted mesh, a wrap skirt with vivid striped pattern and a ruffle detail, a dramatic ostrich feather drape, and light-blue lace-up boots. Face Details and Hair: Enchanting Afro hairstyle decorated with bead strands, raised appliqué eyelashes, very fine makeup, and a dark skin tone created specifically for this edition. Item Conditions: NRFB (Never Removed From Box / Never taken out of the box): The doll is perfectly anchored to her original collection supports. Box Condition: The book-opening (gatefold) box is in excellent overall condition, with minimal and ordinary shelf/time wear visible on the edges, as shown in the photographs attached. An indispensable and highly valuable artistic piece for Barbie Collector and couture fashion enthusiasts.
