Balance or scale - Wood, Metal, Brass

Two-pan balance in pharmacy style – turned wood, brass and iron – circa 1960–1980 Elegant two-pan balance, crafted with a turned wooden base and central column, and an upper brass structure worked with ornamental volute motifs. The two brass pans are suspended by chains from the balance arms. On the base there is the corresponding set of brass weights, housed in the dedicated recesses. The item echoes the aesthetics of traditional pharmacy and counter balances and features a pleasing patina from age, which enhances its vintage character. Particularly suitable as a collectible object or decorative element for a study, pharmacy, library, shop, or a traditionally styled living space.
