AUSTRALIA 1929 cover to Paris bearing KGV 1½d (2) with French 40c & 1f.50, tied 'Richmond 30 3 29', flown by Kingsford Smith and Charles Ulm, lost between Richmond and Wyndham, found after 13 days (a period referred to as the 'Coffee Royal' episode), with the mail subsequently carried by Kingsford Smith on his first flight to England on 25th June, arriving on 10th July. The cover is signed by Kingsford Smith and Charles Ulm. A fine & very scarce cover.
