The main protagonist is the mantle: an extremely dense succession of curls, waves, and small concentric motifs, changing orientation in different sections and reacting to light to create continuous reflections on the black. Macro photography highlights this feature particularly well: the surface does not appear simply black and uniform, but shows an incredible variety of glossy reliefs and depth, with areas more tightly packed alternating with wider curls.
