Two imposing table candelabras around 1910 will be presented. United Kingdom - Birmingham. Excellent craftsmanship – no silverware loss – minimal patina on the decorations! Made by the famous silversmith Arthur Price & Co. The highest official recognition in the British realm is the royal warrants. They certify that a company regularly supplies the royal household with goods of outstanding quality: 1977 – Royal Warrant from Queen Elizabeth II: Arthur Price received this coveted title during the Queen's Silver Jubilee. 1988 – Royal Warrant of the Prince of Wales (now King Charles III): A second appointment followed eleven years later by the then heir to the throne. Special historic major commissions and honors Besides the warrants, the silversmith gained worldwide fame through iconic large commissions that, like awards, enhanced the firm’s renown: Cutlery for the RMS Titanic (1912): Arthur Price & Co. was chosen to exclusively equip the First-Class dining rooms of the world’s then-most luxurious passenger ship with silver cutlery. Equipping the Concorde (1976): For the world-famous introduction of the supersonic passenger jet, the company designed and produced the special, extremely ergonomic onboard cutlery. Such numbers were used by manufacturers to indicate the specific form, design or model line of the object. Foundation: Founded in 1902 by Arthur Price in Birmingham. The dating "around 1900" thus exactly fits the early phase of the company. The candelabra stand at a substantial height of 32 cm. Base diameter: about 15 cm. Weight: 1170 g and 1280 g – solid with fill! The felt, aged as expected, should be renewed. One candelabrum has several small, insignificant dings at the foot and on the middle shaft.
