Delicate, refined and sculptural, the Lesbo lamp by Artemide represents one of the symbols of Made in Italy lighting from the 1970s. The lamp's name is important, as it draws inspiration from the homonymous Greek island where the famous poet Sappho lived. Designer Angelo Mangiarotti pays homage to the skilled glassworking techniques through this table lamp with soft and sensuous forms. A simple circular metal base supports an elegant mouth-blown Murano glass diffuser, mushroom-shaped. The white surface of the Lesbo lamp diffuser shows nuances that help conceal the light source and direct the beam of light upward. Ideal to place on a table, on a desk, on a bedside table, or on an entryway cabinet, the Lesbo Artemide lamp provides a soft, warm, and ethereal light that enhances and emphasizes the fascinating characteristics of glass.
