Todas las subastas / Varios / Art Deco Fountain - 1940-1950 - Onyx basin
Refined 20th-century tray. A remarkable example of decorative craftsmanship in onyx, a semiprecious stone famed for its extraordinary color banding and partial translucency. The piece features an organic form that evokes the natural world, particularly the marine world. Typical of luxury-object production in the mid-20th century (Mid-Century style or late Art Deco), this tray represents a period when precious stone materials were used to create everyday objects that were at the same time small sculptures.
