England, around 1900: the Empire is at the height of its power. The old Queen Victoria has brought peace and economic success to her subjects. Luxury and wealth are reaching ever wider strata of society in London. Precious jewellery is no longer only available from jewelers - jewellery manufacturers are so sure of their eager customers that they even publish order catalogs. Diamonds, pearls, gold and precious stones can be found on every page. This pendant is also made from 15-carat gold and real pearls. Fine natural pearls shimmer on radially arranged gold elements that are grouped around a red ruby in the center of the piece of jewelry. A loop, also set with pearls, makes the airy, openwork piece of jewelry wearable on a delicate gold chain. The pendant takes us back to the heyday of the British Empire, to the years around 1900. A decorative piece of jewelry with beautiful colors that we discovered in London.
