Boston, mid-19th century 12-inch terrestrial globe, maker's cartouche reads "Joslin's / Terrestrial Globe / containing all / The Late Discoveries / and / Geographical Improvements...Revised by G. W. Boynton / Manufactured by Gilman Joslin, Boston," within an engraved brass full meridian and papered horizon band decorated with with the zodiac calendar and iron mount, set within a vintage brass stand. 36 x 17 in. diameter From the Estate of the Late Susan H. Ehringhaus, Chapel Hill, North Carolina Splits and small areas of paper loss namely to the horizon ring; ink tracing around some geographical boundaries.
