ANGELO MANGIAROTTI & BRUNO MORASSUTTI, Seltene Tischuhr „Secticon T1“ 1956

Portescap (Le Porte-Echappement Universel S.A.), La Chaux-de-Fonds, Schweiz. | ANGELO MANGIAROTTI & BRUNO MORASSUTTI, Rare “Secticon T1” Table Clock, 1956 Portescap (Le Porte-Echappement Universel S.A.), La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Black plastic case, brass-colored anodized dial with raised line indices, black hour and minute hands, red second hand, glazed front. The dial is printed with “secticon” and “swiss made”. Dimensions: H. approx. 24 cm. Designed in 1956 by the two Milanese architects and pioneering designers Angelo Mangiarotti and Bruno Morassutti, the “Secticon” table clock is regarded as one of the most iconic design pieces of Italian post-war modernism. Its flowing, organically inspired chalice-shaped form decisively breaks with the traditional case geometry of classic table clocks. With this design, Mangiarotti and Morassutti created a sculptural object that conveys a balanced sense of dynamism from every angle. Powered by a high-precision Swiss battery-operated movement by the renowned Portescap manufacturer in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the Secticon combines avant-garde aesthetics with outstanding Swiss precision engineering. Good original condition consistent with age, with a fine patina. The case shows light, fine signs of use. The brass-colored dial displays characteristic, even age-related spotting beneath the glass. Functionality has not been tested. SHIPPING TO THE USA MUST BE ARRANGED BY THE BUYER.
