A monograph devoted to Claudia Andujar’s photographic work among the Yanomami of the Amazon, a subject to which the photographer has dedicated a significant portion of her body of work. The photographs, taken in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, differ from strictly ethnographic documentation in their highly personal style: strong contrasts, movement, blurring, play of light, and immersion in the space of the forest and the community. The book thus combines artistic photography with an account of Yanomami culture. A sought-after publication in the field of Latin American and Amazonian photography, made all the more interesting by the fact that Claudia Andujar’s work has gained significant international recognition.
