Bright red tones seem to float over the picture plane, detach from their botanical Vorlage, and recall petals or butterflies carried by the wind. At the same time, the title points to the feeling of being completely overwhelmed by a moment, a mood, or a beauty. Stylistically, the work moves in the tension between gestural abstraction, abstract expressionism, and contemporary floral painting. The foreground is not the faithful reproduction of individual plants, but the free translation of their forms into color, structure, and movement. Flowers and butterflies remain recognizable motifs and dissolve at the same time into expressive color traces. Thus, a modern interpretation of the classical still life of flowers emerges, where atmosphere and painterly expression take precedence over botanical accuracy. Blown Away leaves room for different associations: to a wind-swept garden, to fleeting moments of nature, or to the feeling of simply letting oneself be carried away by something beautiful. With its expressive color, free composition, and the appealing interplay between floral hints and abstraction, the work makes a distinctive statement in modern living and work spaces. Andrea Krauß stands among the prominent figures of contemporary German painting. A prizewinner of the AOK Nordost Art Prize (Berlin/Brandenburg) and former scholarship holder of the renowned Künstlerhaus Lukas in Ahrenshoop, she studied at the Braunschweig University of Art. For many years she has dedicated herself to painting and currently lives and works in her Berlin-based studio. At the center of her artistic work is the connection between memory, atmosphere, and landscape. Starting from personal impressions, Andrea Krauß develops image worlds that point beyond the individual and touch universal experiences of nature, space, and transience. Recurring motifs are birches and other elements of nature, whose quiet presence merges with traces of human design and memory. Krauß’s works have been shown in galleries, museums, and prestigious exhibitions and are now in numerous private collections. Her works convince with their poetic power, atmospheric density, and the sensitive combination of nature observation and personal memory.
