ROMAN OENOCHOE IN GLASS Roman oenochoe with a greenish glass handle, featuring a relief decoration and a clover-shaped lip. The body is square, each face adorned with a distinct relief design. Each decoration consists of a large oval with inside ear-of-grain motifs surmounted by a circle, oblique lines, and ear-of-grain motifs above a circle. A large circular-section handle connects the shoulder to the lip, folded back at the top forming a wide knop. This oenochoe was probably part of a table service. Nice iridescence. The glass is partially covered by an iridescent layer formed by oxidation over the centuries. Roman period, circa 3rd/4th century AD. Dimensions: height 13.9 cm x diameter 6.8 cm. This oenochoe is completely intact. No restorations. The vase will be supplied with an export license issued by the German cultural authorities.
