Ancient Roman

Bronze ring with low oval bezel – 1st–4th century AD A bronze ring whose hoop widens gradually to form a low oval bezel. The head has a plain or heavily worn face, without an identifiable motif in the photographs. Pale deposits and brown areas extend over the metal, with an uneven texture particularly visible on the shoulders and inside the hoop. The design forms a continuous, compact outline without a high setting. The head is visually defined by its oval outline and increased width rather than by a projecting ornamental mount. In profile, the shoulders rise gradually, giving the piece a smooth transition into the upper face. The lower hoop remains simpler and narrower. Abraded areas and deposits produce changes in surface tone across the ring, while the absence of a clearly readable motif means that the surviving silhouette is its most readily appreciable feature. Material: Bronze Dimensions: 2.2 x 2.2 cm Weight: 3.89 gr Provenance: Acquired in Germany from an auction house, previously from a personal collection. We guarantee the authenticity of the pieces, backed by the combined experience of our experts spanning more than 40 years. A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) will be sent digitally by email.
