Ancient Roman Bronze Signet Ring with Griffin Motif (No reserve price)

Late Roman bronze seal ring with a griffin motif This bronze ring bears a powerful symbol: the griffin, which unites the strength of a lion with the head and wings of an eagle. A mythical guardian that evokes protection, vigilance and authority. The motif presents us with a Roman owner who wanted to wear these qualities on his hand. His identity remains unknown, but his ring still captures the imagination. The griffin later also found a place in Christian art and church decoration, where its double form was linked to the human and divine nature of Christ. An ancient motif with a rich history of meanings. Width: 2.2 cm Length: 1.8 cm Weight: 4.99 g
