Ancient Roman

Bronze ring with integrated oval head – 1st–4th century AD A bronze ring with a broad hoop and an oval head rising gradually from the shoulders. The design has little projecting relief and draws attention to the front surface, now worn and without a securely readable motif. Green and brown areas, pale concretions and small irregularities occur along the edges. The inside of the hoop also has an uneven texture. The upper face is broader than the lower band and creates a compact signet-like silhouette. Its transition into the shoulders is gradual, so that the ring appears as a continuous piece rather than a slender hoop carrying a separate decorative plate. Differences in colour and texture remain visible across the front, sides and interior. These surface variations, together with the softened contours, give the piece its present appearance without revealing a securely interpretable design. Material: Bronze Dimensions: 2.1 x 1.9 cm Weight: 4.5 gr Provenance: Acquired in Germany from an auction house, previously from a personal collection. We guarantee the authenticity of the pieces, backed by the combined experience of our experts spanning more than 40 years. A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) will be sent digitally by email. This item has been legally acquired in accordance with European law.
