AMOURS: The Love Affairs of the Illustrious Ladies of Our Century. Cologne, Jean le Blanc, 1680. 2 parts in one in-12 volume, midnight blue morocco, triple gilt fillet, decorated spine, interior lace, gilt edges on marbled paper (Niédrée 1846). First edition (?) of this satirical and romantic collection attributed to the Count of Bussy-Rabutin, whose copies vary in composition according to Brunet and Tchemerzine (II, p. 162). Our copy is illustrated with a frontispiece and 8 plates (not 9 as indicated by Tchemerzine), and does indeed include, in the second part, *Le Passe-Temps royal ou les Amours de Mademoiselle de Fontange*; notable plays included are *Le Palais Royal, or the Love Affairs of Madame de La Valière* and *The Rout and Farewell of the Courtesans of the City and Suburbs of Paris*. A fine copy.
