Amedeo Modigliani (1884–1920) (after) - Nu couché – Fine Art

This fine art print is a high-quality reproduction of “Nu couché” by Amedeo Modigliani, one of the most distinctive figures of early 20th-century modern art. Printed on premium 300gsm matte fine art paper, it ensures a refined, glare-free finish with excellent depth and tonal quality. The A3 format (297 × 420 mm) enhances the elegance and presence of the composition. This is an “after” print, meaning a contemporary reproduction of the original artwork and not an original piece by the artist. The image has been digitally refined to improve sharpness, contrast, and overall color balance, while maintaining the authenticity of Modigliani’s style. ABOUT THE ARTWORK “Nu couché” (c. 1916–1919) is part of Modigliani’s celebrated series of reclining nudes, created during his most productive and mature period in Paris. The composition presents a sensual, elongated female figure lying in a relaxed pose, rendered with smooth contours and simplified forms. Unlike traditional academic nudes, the subject is depicted without mythological or allegorical pretext, confronting the viewer with a direct and unapologetic presence. The warm tones, fluid lines, and subtle distortion of proportions reflect Modigliani’s unique synthesis of classical inspiration and modernist reduction. These works were considered provocative at the time of their first exhibition, yet they are now regarded as iconic examples of modern art, embodying both intimacy and formal elegance.
