Rodrigo Alonso Cuesta (Burgos, 1982). Resides in Spain. This graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca and Audiovisual Communication from the University of Burgos has had a distinguished academic training, complemented by experiences abroad thanks to Erasmus scholarships he carried out in Portugal and Belgium. His artistic activity focuses mainly on oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, digital art, and paper, where he creates paintings, drawings, and collages. His style is characterized by a rich, vivid, and expressive color range, as well as by a plastic compositional style with dynamic and unusual perspectives, influenced by his passion for analog photography. The themes he addresses in his works are “landscapes, still lifes and portraits… that’s all,” following the famous David Hockney phrase. Although his work starts from figurative representation, he has recently begun to experiment with geometric abstraction, always in large and expansive formats. This artist has participated in numerous exhibitions at the national level, with a special focus on the north of Spain. For more than 20 years, he has presented his work in various towns such as Burgos, Teruel, Vitoria, and Salamanca, where his work is particularly recognized. He has also won painting prizes at both national and international levels, demonstrating his talent and recognition in the art world. Recently, he won the prize at the III Motril Art Contest. 2024. In addition to his presence in exhibitions, his works are part of multiple private collections around the world. This shows that his work is appreciated not only by the general public but also by collectors and lovers of art who value his unique style and technical skill.
