Acrylics dissolved in epoxy resin on PVC "Not your doll" - "I am not your doll" is a series in which I intend to represent the faces of women with features that recall the most classic dolls, and the message is: "even if I look like a real doll, I am not a doll, your doll is to do with me whatever you want" with all that lies behind, up to, unfortunately, violence. This work is unique and original. Each work is securely packaged, wrapped and protected for shipping worldwide, with the Certificate of Authenticity included. After an initial period dedicated to sculpture there was a long pause lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I returned to the "two dimensions" for reasons of time and space, detaching from sculpture and dedicating myself to creating acrylic paintings. I love painting abstract landscapes but recently I have started painting faces of people, both imaginary and real. For me painting is "freezing time" in that exact moment; one of my paintings is often a faded memory and therefore my works are "worn, eroded by time." Sometimes the subjects of my paintings are glimpses of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that, over time, grow on the surface. The inexorable passage of time is the main theme of my works. Coming from a wonderful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch, and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs easily perceptible to both touch and the naked eye. Recently, after several years in which my works were made from little pieces of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing myself to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and repeated grids with mathematical precision that, viewed up close, seem to form an abstract, colorful canvas, but the farther you go, the more a portrait emerges from the many painted wooden discs. Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all of my works when I reproduce women's faces, precisely to give them a voice when they lack the strength or courage to report that these are not their partner's dolls and they cannot be mistreated or, worse, be victims of violence.
