ot your doll - 15 (n.677) The measurements are: - collage: 50.00 x 40.00 cm - collage + collage passepartout + frame: 76.50 x 56.50 cm; thickness 2.50 cm Acrylic painting on shredded paper on canvas Framed; ready to be hung I create paintings using acrylic paints and thousands of small pieces of recycled paper: everyday paper becomes art instead of ending up in the trash. In my latest works I have focused on the theme of women treated as objects (dolls) and too often victims of violence, and these are the latest pieces I have created. On these little pieces of paper you can read words and phrases scattered here and there. Often this is what happens when we really get close to another person: sometimes we perceive their secret messages, sometimes not. The work is sold framed and ready to hang thanks to the hook on the back. The surface features small reliefs and I like to caress it, to feel it... I also use acrylic resin on the surface, which gives a glossy effect and protects the colors from sunlight and dust. Each piece is securely packaged, wrapped and protected for shipping and will arrive in a completely safe package, including the Certificate of Authenticity. I use DHL/UPS courier: shipping within Europe arrives in 24/48 hours; international shipping arrives in 48/72 hours. Some delays may be caused by customs clearance at borders. Shipping takes about 7 days; about 10 days for non-EU countries. A tracking number is provided for the shipment. Different light sources can give photos different colors. The amount should be between 10% and 20% of the artwork value. Born in 1974, I am self-taught. After an initial period devoted to sculpture there was a long hiatus lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I resumed with the “two dimensions” for time and space reasons, leaving sculpture aside and devoting myself to acrylic paintings. I love painting abstract landscapes but recently I have started painting faces of people, both imagined and real. For me painting is about “freezing time” in that exact moment; a painting is often a faded memory and thus my works are “worn, eroded by time.” Sometimes the subjects of my paintings are alleyways of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that – over time – grow on the surface. The passing of time is the main theme of my works. Coming from a wonderful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch, and my paintings are often characterized by noticeable reliefs both to the touch and to the naked eye. Recently, after several years in which my works were made from little pieces of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing myself to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and grids repeated with mathematical precision that, viewed up close, seem to form a colorful abstract picture but the further you go, the more a portrait of many discs painted emerges. Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all my works when I reproduce women’s faces, precisely to give them a voice when they do not have the strength or courage to report that they are not their partner’s dolls and should not be mistreated or, worse, victims of violence.
