Todas las subastas / Arte contemporáneo / Ad Kouw (XIX) - Geometrische figuren
This elongated painting from 1955 shows two strongly stylized human figures in a jagged, almost geometric setting. The faces are not depicted realistically, but built up from bold black lines and simplified shapes. Above the figures there is a striking sun, while areas in red, orange, brown, green and black divide the composition. The distorted faces, differing viewpoints and angular forms give the work an expressionistic and cubist appearance. Especially the warm, dark colors and the penetrating gazes of the figures contribute to a mysterious and somewhat melancholic atmosphere. Made by the Dutch painter Ad Kouw Dimensions: 41 x 14 cm Dimensions with frame: 42 x 15 cm Viewings are possible
