A World War II Japanese Katana sword

A World War II Japanese Katana sword, length of blade 68cm, distinctive gunome hamon, fair polish, in shin gunto mounts with regulation brass tsuba, tan cord binding, shagreen grip with floral menuki, red dress knot, in its steel scabbard with much original painted finish, further contained in leather outer field scabbard with metal chain belt securing attachment, good condition. Provenance It was confirmed by Roy Lindus, a member of the To-Ken Society that the blade was made in 1606. The blade reads Ei Sho Nu Nen Gatso Nichi Bi Shu Osa Fune Suke Sada, Condition Report, Condition Report, In excellent condition, leather outer scabbard has a large split, (we are not prepared to take this item apart as we do not wish to break the integrity of the sword), Buyers and prospective Buyers are deemed to have satisfied themselves before bidding by inspection or otherwise as to (but not limited to) the physical condition (including defects) of the Lot and its description in the Catalogue.
