A Paubha of Vikram Shahi (R. 1602-1631), King of Jumla

Distemper and gold on cloth, inscribed in black ink in Nepali/Devanagari script along the top and sides and Tibetan/Ume (running) script along the lower border, translated: From Devanagari: Om! Let it be well! In the year 1530 of the Shaka era, in the month of Phālgu ṇ , on the 25th solar day, on Monday (2 March, 1609). Śrī Rājā Vikrama Sāhi, (his) queens Agrāvati (and) Samudrāvati; (and) 3 princes Viśeka Śāhi, Hari Śāhi (and) Badrī Śāhi. From U-me: King Vikram Shahi and (his) Princes gave (give?) protection to Lama Yonten Gyaltsen from Nepalese (Mon) and Tibetan (bod) side for his spiritual and family lineage. Anyone would be punished if they broke the order … Minister Vajra Malla and Kale Badra (Bahadur?) both were present. Triple Gems are the refuge. May it be auspicious.
