A Collection of Houston Airport "WEDway PeopleMover" Documents.

(WED, 1981) The underground IAH Subway at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston is the only WEDway PeopleMover system ever built by the Walt Disney Company outside of a Disney Theme Park. First deployed in the Ford Magic Skway attraction at the 1964-65 World’s Fair, the system was originally meant to be the main commuting method in the planned EPCOT City. WED also envisioned the commercial use of the system in other cities, and the newly renovated Houston Intercontinental Airport was their first and only customer. From the estate of Imagineer Monte Hoult comes this collection featuring the original 13” x 14” cover art mock-up for the Houston WEDway PeopleMover, two 4” x 9” tri-fold flyers, and four 5” x 11” Xerox copies of WED’s promotional booklet of the system. All are in good condition, with expected wear from age and yellowing of the Xerox copies.
