A 19th century Turkish Ottoman red wool prayer Hanging. Worked in polychrome silks, embroidered in fine chain stitch. The design a central ornate Mihrabi (prayer arch) and floral tree of life within. Bordered with a wide ornate floral border and silk fringe, 178cm high x 106cm wide. Condition; The embroidery is still strong and colours unfaded. The red will has discoloured with dust and age, but maybe able to be professionally cleaned. The red silk lining needs replacing as is torn.
