4pc Wedgwood and Bing and Grondahl Porcelain Items

A collection of four ceramic items featuring commemorative pieces from Wedgwood and Bing and Grondahl, along with a repurposed decorative item. All items include a circular silver provenance sticker from the Rubin Collection. The first item is a Wedgwood fine earthenware saucer produced for the University of Pennsylvania Bicentennial (1740-1940). The creamware body features an embossed laurel-wreath border and a red transfer-printed Greek key inner ring. The base is marked with red transfer-printed text reading University of Pennsylvania Bicentennial 1740-1940 and a central stamp for Wedgwood Etruria England. The second item is a Wedgwood commemorative calendar paperweight or small bowl produced at the Barlaston factory to mark the 1986 return of Halley's Comet. The multi-color transfer-printed decoration includes a portrait of Edmond Halley, a 1986 calendar, and a diagram of the comet's orbit. The base is marked To Mark the Return of Halley's Comet 1985 1986 with a black factory stamp for of Etruria Wedgwood Made in England Barlaston. The third item is a Bing and Grondahl porcelain commemorative bell for St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, Austria, dated 1982. The bell is finished in a deep cobalt blue glaze with relief-molded floral and architectural patterns highlighted with gilt accents. The exterior features the text Der Wiener Stephansdom Wien Osterreich 1982 and the phrase Ring out the old - Ring in the... around the base. The interior is inscribed St. Stephan's Cathedral, Vienna, Austria. It retains its original wooden clapper. The fourth item is a repurposed plug-in night light constructed from sections of a red and white transfer-ware teacup and saucer featuring scenic and floral patterns. The ceramic fragments are mounted to a standard white plastic night light base with a small screw-in bulb.
