West Africa, Ghana, Mali, Burkina Faso, Dogon people, ca. late 19th to mid-20th century. A group of three brass hair pins, each cast with figural finials, including two depicting mounted riders and one showing a kneeling female figure with raised arms. The forms are elongated and stylized, with openwork elements and simplified anatomy characteristic of Dogon metalwork. Size of largest: 6.6" L x 2.5" W (16.8 cm x 6.4 cm) Item # 197240
