Premium smoked quartz 23 kg with stand a centerpiece for your interior decoration. A piece of smoked quartz that will attract the attention of your guests or your colleagues. Most minerals and stones in the world take their names from the mineralogist who discovered them, from the locality where they were first found, or in reference to a color. There are several hypotheses about the origin of the word "Quartz". The first would be that it derives from the word "quaterz", meaning "bad ore", invented in the 1600s. The second hypothesis suggests that smoked quartz would derive from the German word "qewärz", which means "growth", in reference to the shape of the crystals. Smoked quartz, formerly known as "enfumé", gets its name from its brown color, linked to natural irradiation. There are 2 particular varieties of smoked quartz, morion quartz, whose natural irradiation is especially pronounced, and Cairngorm, discovered in the mountains of the same name, in Scotland, ranging from yellow to brown.
