It is an uncompromising wine that needs no introduction; its mere presence and excellent value for money speak for themselves. From the historic founder Marziano, through his father Celso, to the brothers Marziano and Enrico, the Abbona family has always sought out the finest vineyard sites long before concepts like *terroir* and *cru* became commonplace to marry the greatest grape varieties with the living soil and create memorable wines. This Barolo originates from the Perno vineyard near Monforte d’Alba, a territory ideally suited to producing the Nebbiolo grapes required for these austere reds of the Langhe. The Abbona family possesses deep knowledge of and profound respect for their vineyard plots, carefully tending the grapes destined for their finest wines. Abbona Barolo is crafted through spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks using indigenous yeasts, with skin contact lasting approximately 30 days and continuous pump-overs performed throughout the process. Aging involves 30 months in 25-hectolitre casks, followed by a further six months of bottle maturation. Visually, the Marziano Abbona Barolo presents a ruby ​​red hue graced with garnet highlights. On the nose, floral notes of dog rose and wisteria give way to hints of sweet violet and occasional balsamic nuances, culminating in a finish of wet earth and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is crisp you couldn't ask for better savory, and complex, with a refreshing finish framed by balanced tannins.
