The exuberant Échézeaux Grand Cru 2017 is particularly good this year, unleashing an extravagant bouquet of berries, rose petals, cinnamon, smoked duck, and Asian spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied, supple, and velvety, with a broad attack and superb depth and breadth, its fleshy fruit core framed by fine, melting tannins. Reminiscent of a modern version of the estate's 1985 Échézeaux, it's another 2017 that has improved significantly in the final months of aging. Harvested on the 18th, this was the estate's final harvest date. Serials present and correct.
