Château Latour 2014 is a legendary red wine from Bordeaux, classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé in the historic 1855 classification. Produced in the famous Pauillac appellation, it represents a vintage particularly meaningful for the winery. From 2012, Château Latour indeed abandoned the En Primeur system, deciding to let its wines mature directly in the estate cellars and release them to market only when deemed ready for consumption. The 2014 vintage was officially released onto the market in spring 2022, becoming from the outset one of the most interesting vintages. Wine Characteristics • Grape composition: It is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon (about 89.9%), followed by Merlot (9.2%) and tiny percentages of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. • Tasting profile: On the nose it releases intense notes of dark fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), graphite, cigar box, violet and balsamic nuances. On the palate it is full-bodied, characterized by a vibrant freshness and firm and finely grained tannins that guarantee extraordinary longevity. • Aging potential: Enormous. It is estimated that its ideal drinking window could extend to 2065–2068.
