Founded in 2011, Château des Quarts is the result of an exceptional partnership between two iconic figures of Burgundy: Olivier Merlin, the current president, and Dominique Lafon, the managing director. United by a shared vision, they acquired this estate in the Mâconnais region to restore the prestige of a historic yet overlooked terroir. This exclusive 2.23-hectare vineyard perfectly embodies the excellence and expertise of these two winemakers, who are dedicated to crafting wines of remarkable precision and complexity. Located in Chaintré, at the southernmost tip of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, this 2.23-hectare monopole is enclosed by a historic stone wall. With a south-southeast exposure on a gentle slope at an altitude of 230 meters, the vines thrive on clay-limestone soils rich in crinoidal limestone.
