Magnum Bottle (1500 ml) of Allegrini "La Poja" vintage 2010, presented in its original wooden case (OWC) with metal closure. La Poja represents one of the iconic and most prestigious wines of Allegrini winery, a historic entity founded in Fumane, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. Born in 1979 from the insight of Giovanni Allegrini, this wine is a 100% Corvina Veronese monovarietal coming from the vineyard of the same name on the summit of Podere La Grola hill, a unique calcareous plateau kissed by breezes from Lake Garda. This wine has been awarded by many wine critics such as: James Suckling Score: 92/100 points. This red shows a character of very ripe fruit, with wet earth and notes of cedar and fresh mint. Full-bodied, soft and velvety, with a long and sapid finish. A splendid wine. A very balanced and restrained La Poja style. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate Score: 93/100 points. The 2010 La Poja is the last bottling of one of Italy’s most unique wines. It is a pure expression of the Corvina Veronese variety, the main component of Amarone wines produced through the appassimento process. La Poja allows this finicky grape to sing on its own with about 20 months in new barriques followed by eight months in bottle. The results are exceptional, with unmixed cherries and blackberries followed by spices, leather and tar. To achieve the best results, age this wine for another four to five years. Wine Spectator Score: 89/100 points. An elegant red, with well-integrated tannins and flavors of crème de cassis, box of spices, black olive tapenade and sweet brown bread. Medium-full in body, it offers a subtle finish, accented by notes of spice and graphite. • Fill Level: Neck.
